Wiring Harness for Curt Echo Under-Dash on 2016 Range Rover Sport Without Tow Package
Question:
The description of Installation Accessories says that custom brake control wiring adapters are available for most newer trucks and SUVs - but I cant find one vehicle specific to my vehicle, which did not have a trailer towing package originally. Is there a part number you can give me that would work? Thanks

The wiring adapters you are talking about are for vehicles with the factory tow port. Since you do not have the tow package on your 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, you will need to use a universal wiring harness. In order to install the Curt Echo Under-Dash Trailer Brake Controller # C27JR you will need the # C51515. This wiring harness plugs into the Echo on one end and splices into your vehicle wiring with the other.
Since you do not have the factory tow port, you may also need a 30-amp circuit breaker like the # 38630 to complete the installation. If you would like to have a manual override outside of the app, I highly recommend adding the Manual Override Button for Curt Echo Brake Controller # C83HR as well.
I also noticed you looked at the # ETBC7. If you only have a 4-way connection and do not have a 7-way, this will be required. This kit will give you a 7-way at the back of your vehicle and allow your brake controller to send the signal to your brakes. It will also be necessary to power the brakes on your trailer. If you don't have a 4-way, you will need to install a 4-way wiring harness like the # C59496 before installing the # ETBC7.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
