Compatible Base Plate For A 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer Activ AWD

Question:

I’m interested in a baseplate for a 2021 Chevy trailblazer activ model. Your site only lists the other models. Is the rs also compatible with the activ since this is the awd model? Also is there much difference between roadmaster and blue ox? Thank you

If your 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer Activ AWD has a 1.3L Turbo engine then you will be able to use the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM35FR. The RS base plates would not be compatible with your vehicle. As for the difference between Roadmaster and Blue Ox, Roadmaster manufactures all of their equipment in house, in the US, and is top tier in quality. While Blue Ox is a good brand, their quality and customer service comes in second place. Roadmaster's tech service, specifically Benny, is the most helpful and knowledgeable service out of all of the companies we work with. You will not regret going with Roadmaster branded equipment.

To flat tow your 2021 Chevy TrailBlazer you'll also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. If you haven't purchased these items then I have the following recommendations for you:

Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. This tow bar features a large hookup radius and non-binding latches that make connecting and disconnecting on any terrain a breeze.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RO94FR along with the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-146-7. This diode kit will convert the 12V signal from your RV to a 9V signal, ensuring that your car's variable voltage tail lights function as intended.

Note: If you have LED lights then you'll need the # RO44FR.

Since you'll have to disconnect the battery to flat tow you can use the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 to make disconnecting and reconnecting the battery as simple as flipping a switch.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote from the cab of your motorhome. The included charge line kit will keep your TrailBlazer's battery charged while you tow.

Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.

You may also require a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and TrailBlazer. This does require some measuring on your part so I've attached our help article to walk you through the steps of determining the correct rise/drop needed for your application.
