Can I Use the 60-Inch Yakima JetStream Crossbars to Use My Hullavator on My 2021 Toyota Highlander?

Question:

Hello, I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid which I am trying to put a roof rack on it to haul a Thule Hullavator Pro kayak rack with lift assist. The kayak is 13 feet long and I previous hauled it on my 2011 Toyota Highlander. My new vehicle has flush mounted rails that run front to back. Thule has not designed a rack for this vehicle yet so I am looking at Yakima. Please tell me if all the parts that I will be listing are correct to hall this kayak. Jet Stream 8459629, Skyline Tower 8000148, Landing Pad #28 8000255 and Lock Set 80007204. I know that I need the 60 bar because the is what my old Highlander took. Thanks for your help

If you are looking at the JetStream crossbar system for your 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with flush rails, you are correct that you need the SkyLine Towers # Y53TR, Landing Pad 28 # Y66VR, and Lock Cores # Y07204. These etrailer part numbers correspond to the Yakima part numbers you mentioned. However, the JetStream Crossbars 8459629 did not come up with a matching etrailer part number. However, if you are looking for 60-inch bars, those are # Y00426. While Yakima recommends 50-inch crossbars like the # Y00425, you will be able to use the 60-inch bars with the other components of the system. With this system, you do have enough crossbar spread for the required 24 inches of the Hullavator # TH898.

In order to know whether you have the required 4 inches of crossbar length past the feet of your setup for the Hullavator, there is a trick you can do. First, find the mounting points on your flush rails. Then, measure the distance between one side of the mounting points and the other (across the length of the roof). If that measurement does not exceed 52 inches, you will have the required four inches of crossbar space past your feet in order for the Hullavator # TH898 to function. Also, the Hullavator will be able to clamp onto the Yakima JetStream crossbars.
