Yes! The Draw-Tite Hitch # 75234 will work with your hands-free liftgate sensor on your 2021 Ford Edge. You will just need to have a little wider kick to activate the sensor once the hitch is installed.
If you plan on towing with the hitch, I recommend a ball/ball mount like the ones included in the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45534. Not only does this kit come with a hitch cover, but it also comes with a locking hitch pin. Also, if you need trailer wiring, I recommend the following harnesses based on your submodel:
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C89FR (for SE and SEL models)
- Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C73FR (for Titanium models)
- T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118805 (for non-Titanium models)
With all of these wiring harnesses, you will have basic brake light, turn signal, and running light functions. As with all hitches and towing applications, I recommend that you consult with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can accommodate the weight you wish to transport.
