What Tire Chains do You Recommend for My 35/12.5-17 Tires on my 2019 Ram 1500?
Question:
My truck is 2019 Ram 1500 Classic. The 35x12.5r17 tires are after market and there's no mention of snow chains in the Ram manual either. To be more specific, my truck is 2"lifted in the front, 4" in the rear. My tires are Nitto Terra Grapplers.

For your 2019 Ram 1500 with 35/12.5-17 tires, the safest route is the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link # TC2337 for both on-road and off-road travel. These chains have a smaller link thickness (3.7mm) compared to other diamond-pattern chains like the # TC2539 (which have 5.5mm chains). The reason why link thickness matters is because the thickness ultimately contributes to how much wheel well clearance you have with your chains.
In order to determine whether you can use the # TC2337 safely on your tires, I recommend measuring your wheel well clearance. The # TC2337 requires 37 mm between the top of the tire tread and the wheel well and 15 mm between the tire's sidewall and the vehicle itself. I went ahead and attached a diagram that explains how to measure these dimensions.
It is really important to note that your owner's manual has the best and most relevant tips and guidelines for you to follow when installing tire chains. I recommend that you consult with your owner's manual to make sure you are following all the manufacturer's requirements.
