For a complete flat towing setup on your 2022 GMC Canyon you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. I recommend the following:
Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - # RM37VR
Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - # RM-676
Combo Kit - # RM-9284-2
Battery Disconnect - # RM-766 (if you don't have a diesel or dual battery model)
InvisiBrake Braking System - # RM-8700
Stop Light Switch - # RM-751472
Most flat towing setups require a high-low adapter for the tow bar to remain level while towing. I have linked our selection of adapters for you to check out as well as an article that will help you determine which is the best one for your application.
I really like the Roadmaster Direct-Connect base plates because they are easy to use and pair up with the All Terrain tow bar. The All Terrain tow bar has integrated safety cables and wiring, and then the combo kit comes with the rest of the wiring plus locks and a cover for the tow bar. The InvisiBrake system installs out of the way so you won't know it's there when you aren't towing the vehicle.
