Best Way For Connecting The Brown Side Marker Light Wire To A Boat Trailer
Question:
Hello, I own a 2004 Boston Whaler 130 Sport, with a Karavan trailer which I believe is a 2004. I have a 4 way wire connector that only has 1 brown and the taillights I am planning to install both had brown wire. Please advise me on how to proceed. Thank you

There are two options for getting your side marker/running lights wired up on your trailer and I included two diagrams for you to check out.
Option A will be to follow one wire that starts at the 4 Flat and follows the trailer frame down one side, across the back, and then up the other side, Teeing off where ever you have a marker light and or taillight. I tend to not prefer this method as if just one little issue happens with a light closer to the 4 Flat, all the lights after will not have issues as well.
Option B, and the one I prefer, Is to Tee off much closer to the 4 Flat plug so you can run a brown wire down both the left and right frame rails. You will still need to Tee off for each light in line, but I find this option easier to do as well as fix if anything ever goes bad.
Either way you decide to do it, the Spectro Quick Splices - Self-Stripping Connector # SWC502905-1 make Teeing off the brown wire significantly easier and they are highly recommended. One will be needed for each light you need to get wired to the brown wire and if you go with Option B, another will be needed to Tee off and run down the other frame rail.
