I would be happy to help you set up your 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon for towing. You're going to need a hitch receiver, wiring harness, and ball mount. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT73RR. This hitch receiver is custom fit to your Subaru and has enough strength to get the full towing capacity out of your vehicle. It also has an easy install. I have linked a video and picture so you can follow along with the installation process and see the final product.
For your wiring harness I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118467. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, located in your rear cargo area. It allows you to control your trailer's lighting functions.
To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" Ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
