Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2022 Ram 1500 With Factory Class III Bumper Hitch

Question:

I need a trailer hitch that will work with my 2022 Ram 1500. It does not have a traditional receiver but I was told by my Ram dealer it has a class 3 bumper that is used for towing. Does that mean that I just add the hitch ball to the bumper like many of the old trucks did? I already have the 4-way wiring on there as well for my utility trailer.

While a Mopar specific hitch ball can be mounted to the bumper on your 2022 Ram 1500, I recommend using a etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e28ZR. This will use the mounting points on your bumper to allow you to use a ball mount like the # C45534. This will move the hitch point further from your vehicle making it less likely that you will damage any parts of your bumper when connecting and dropping the trailer.
