If you are getting no power on your Curt Spectrum # C51170 I first recommend checking that either the Curt Custom Wiring Adapter # C51362 or Universal Wiring Adapter # C51515 is properly connected and that no pins have pulled out of the connector. You should also use a Test Light # PTW2993 to ensure that you do have power on the black wire that powers the controller. If no power you will need to verify that the fuse, Relay and/or circuit breaker are good on your 2013 Toyota Tacoma.
If you have power going to the controller you can also check the ground connection to ensure that it does have continuity to the ground circuit on your Tacoma. You can check this with a Multimeter # PT29ZR on the white wire of the Spectrum.
When pushing the brake pedal you will need to see 12 volt power on the red wire. Since this is a proportional brake controller you will only see 12 volt power on the blue wire by using the manual override function or while driving it will show power when the internal inertia sensor feels the vehicle coming to a stop.
If all these portions check out and your brake controller is still not working the trailer brakes you will either have a wiring issue on your vehicle to the 7-way connector or have a wiring issue with the trailer. You can use the test light to continue checking for power on the brake circuit to find the issue with the wiring on your Tundra or trailer harness.
