It sounds like you are looking for a Class III receiver for your 2021 Subaru Forester Limited. For that I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76271. This receiver is rated for a maximum of 525lbs tongue weight and 3,500lbs total trailer weight. Be sure to not exceed any towing capacities given by Subaru for your specific Forester. You can use a weight distribution hitch with this receiver for the heavier loads to keep your Subaru level when towing.
I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467 with your Subaru. This will connect to the factory connector located inside your rear storage compartment. The wiring is designed to store inside your rear compartment but you can choose to run it outside the compartment through an access hole. If you choose to have it installed this way I recommend using a Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58001 to secure the 4-way to the receiver.
For having the receiver and wiring installed we do have a link "locate installers near me" on the product pages that will help partner you with local installers near you that you can contact for quotes to have the installation performed. I have also linked some of our installation articles below that will allow you see the steps involved if you would like to attempt the installation yourself.
