Trailer Hitch Recommended for Bike Rack and Towing With 2022 Subaru Ascent
Question:
I need a 2 inch hitch for my 2022 Subaru Ascent. I'll mainly use it for a bike rack, but I might use it to tow a small utility trailer at some point. Which hitch do you recommend?

The Curt # C13400 Class III hitch you'd looked at is indeed a fit for your Ascent, but I'd recommend a concealed hitch like the etrailer brand # e55ZR which would actually mount behind the rear bumper (the hitch actually replaces the factory bumper beam) and utilize the removable panel in the rear bumper cover. This has the huge advantage of allowing you to replace the bumper panel when the hitch isn't being used, which makes the hitch completely invisible.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need the # 118790 trailer wiring harness for a 4 pole trailer connector or for a 7-way connector, use # 118290. For a ball mount, use # C45100 along with a # PC3 hitch pin. For a trailer ball, use # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball.
I've linked to some installation videos that you might find useful.
