Using the 3200 Andersen Manufacturing Ultimate 5th-Wheel Connection With a Lippert Turning Point

Question:

I just bought a Grand Design 150 series 5th wheel 260RD. It comes with a Reese Turning Point King Pin. The king pin will be configured such that it will be installed and fixed in that rigid non-turning configuration. I would like to use an Andersen 3200 5th wheel hitch hitch. Is this an acceptable combination of products as long as the Turning Point is not able to pivot or turn?

The Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter, # AM3200 is for fixed pin boxes only. Yes, if you lock the Lippert Turning Point that will cause it to be a fixed pin box and technically function just fine. Just be aware that although Andersen has no issue with the use of their product along with a locked/bolted rotating pin box, Lippert does. So while you can use the two components together in this specific configuration, Lippert will most likely have issues with any warranty claim that may be made against its product in the future because you used it with what is identified as an adapter.
