How Long Does Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Take to Install
Question:
Ive seen many good reviews on the Stay n Play Duo. How long does it take to install? It seems there is a new product the RVI Shadow which claims a 2 hour plug and play installation. Do you have a recommendation between the two for flat towing a 2019 Jeep Rubicon? If so - please explain the pro and con from installation and performance. Thanks

From everything our customers have told us, it will take in the neighborhood of 4 to 5 hours to install the Demco supplemental braking system you asked about, which is the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor # DM86VR.
I've also heard people say they did it in three or took about six hours; this is very dependent on the person though, so your mileage may vary, so to speak. As far as the RVI Shadow, it's not something we carry so I can't give you any details on it. I did take a look at their website and they both exaggerated their claims of how long other systems take to install by pros, and inaccurately said the Stay-IN-Play DUO # DM86VR did not have a monitor. While it isn't a tablet style like the Shadow, the Duo does indeed have a monitor so you know when your towed car's brakes are activating.
What I can tell you for sure is that our customers have been very happy with the Stay-IN-Play DUO # DM86VR, giving it a very high rating overall, as you can see on the "Reviews" tab of the product page. It is a one-time install that will give your Jeep braking proportional to that of your motorhome so it will be both smooth and active whenever you need. And not only do they make really good products, I can also tell you that in my time here Demco has been one of the most helpful, easiest companies to work with in all capacities, and I'm very confident saying you'll be happy going this route.
