Will an Air Force One Braking System Fit onto a Different Year/Make/Model of Vehicle?

Question:

Again thanks for responding. Since I can use the same Air Force One braking system on a 2017 Acadia my question is related specifically to the parts of the Air Force One which are installed on the tow vehicle itself. Are they available to be purchased without having to buy the components installed on my motorhome as those parts are not damaged. The parts I would need are the air hose quick disconnect, break away switch, brake pedal cylinder and the electronic modular box located under the hood and all connecting hardware and hoses needed to set the car up for towing again.

I am so sorry to hear about your car! If you were using a compatible Demco Air Force One Supplemental System like the # DM26VR on your 2014 Buick Enclave, that braking system will not necessarily fit a new vehicle. This is because Demco makes certain models of Air Force One systems that are engineered to fit different years/makes/models of vehicles. If you wish to know if your current Air Force One System is compatible with your new vehicle, please respond to this answer with the model of Air Force One System you have as well as the year/make/model of the new vehicle.

Thanks for responding. The Air Force One model used on my 2014 Buick Enclave was model # SM99243. This is the same model to use on A 2017 GMC Acadia which I am considering as a replacement for the Enclave. So would I be able to buy just the components for the car itself? Thanks

Yes, you will be able to use the SBS Air Force One Braking System # SM99243 on your new 2017 GMC Acadia. As far as the other flat-tow components, without knowing the exact model of components you have, you will most likely be able to use the tow bar, safety cables, and the coiled cord that goes from your RV's 7-way to the front of your Acadia's bumper. If you need a complete system, I recommend these following components on your 2017 GMC Adadia: - Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-523189-4 - Replacement Quick Disconnect Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars # 910021-00 - Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount # RM-676 (comes with electrical cord and safety cables) - Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 With all of these components, you will be able to flat-tow your 2017 GMC Acadia to your motorhome with the Air Force One # SM99243. If you need help with installing any of these listed components, I attached some videos for you to check out.

I see! Thanks so much for the clarification. I am happy to say that we do have a kit to use for installing your Air Force One on your new Acadia without purchasing all of the hardware on the motorhome side. The kit you need is the Demco SBS Second Vehicle Kit for Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # SM99209. I went ahead and attached an installation video of this kit to walk you through the process.
