Trailer Hitch Fit Recommendation For 2018 Subaru Outback
Question:
Is EcoHitch item # 306-X7266 the same as item # - 306-X7315 ? Apparently not, but what is the difference? needs to bolt to the original Subaru bumper mounts on a 2018 Outback. Thanks

The EcoHitch # 306-X7601 and # 306-X7315 hitches might look fairly similar, but the # 306-X7266 is a fit for your 2018 Subaru Outback. The hitch installs to the bumper/crash beam mounting bolts and will be sandwiched between the vehicle and the crash beam as shown in the install video I've linked for you.
The # 306-X7315 is a fit for a different vehicle, the 2017 - 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack and the 2017 - 2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, so it wouldn't fit your Outback.
All this being said, I'd personally choose the Curt # C13410 over the EcoHitch # 306-X7601. It'll install like the EcoHitch and is much less expensive and of similar quality. The hitch crossbar will be concealed behind the bumper fascia, leaving the receiver tube and safety chain loops the only visible portion of the hitch, just like the EcoHitch. I'll also link to an install video for this hitch.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118467, a ball mount like part # C45010 and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.
