When a propane heater won’t stay lit, often what is happening is that the propane heater may sense that the flame is defective in some way, triggering the propane heater’s safety functions and causing it to shut off. The problem may be a genuine defect or it could be an issue with the sensor. If it’s flickering, split, small, orange or yellow-colored, then the pilot tube needs to be cleaned. You can clean it out by turning off the gas first then gently poking a needle into the top of the pilot tube. Another reason that your heater won't stay lit could be that the thermocouple sometimes gets coated with carbon from the propane. Sometimes using a small tooth file and lightly sanding the thermocouple will help to remove the carbon build up.
If you aren't facing any issues using other propane appliances then the fault is going to fall on the heater. If you are having issues when using other appliances then the issue could be your regulator needing to be adjusted, cleaned, or replaced. I recommend having a licensed technician check the flow rate of your regulator to ensure you're receiving 11" WC and if not you can replace your vertical 2-Stage regulator with the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator - 11" Water Column Outlet # 108220.
