5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Question:

I have a 2021 f250, 6.5 ft bed pulling a 35ft Montana, dry weight 12300. Concerned about trailer hitting cab in tight turns. Considering an auto sliding hitch. What would you recommend for my rig? Do I really need a slider?

I suggest you either have a slide type hitch or a rotating turret type pin box on your 5th wheel, then you can use a fixed typed hitch. One option works just as well as the other option. The big influence of one over the other is if you are buying items to match with already purchased items, i.e. someone has a high dollar hitch in a their trade-in long bed truck but gets a new tow vehicle with a short bed. They will frequently change out the pin box to match the fixed hitch. Others, have the 5th wheel already but their new truck requires a new hitch, they will buy a hitch that mates to the already existing pin box.

If your 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty has the OEM puck system, I suggest the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w Slider for Ford Towing Prep Package, # BWRVK3370. If you do not have the OEM prep package/Puck system, then I suggest the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3270 installed using the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails, # BWRVK2402.

Please note the linked product review and installation videos below. I have also attached a help article on Sidewinder pin boxes that you may find of value.
