Can I Use the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 with the EasyFold XT while Flat Towing?
Question:
We tow our smart car, can the bike rack be supported weight using the Curt Multipurpose ball mount? Our Lelectric bikes weigh ~70#s each. Thanks.

Expert Reply:
Technically, the Thule Easyfold XT # TH903202 will work with the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers # D210. However, it won't work with RVs or flat-towed vehicles.
With that being said, if you are planning to use a hitch bike rack on with your Smart car, I recommend installing a hitch receiver along with the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # HLY64FR. The RV Rider has a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 80 pounds and is constructed to withstand the extra torque that will be exerted on the end of a flat-towed vehicle. Also, you will not need to worry about the 50% reduced weight capacity on the hitch used between the vehicles.
In order to recommend a correct receiver for your Smart car, please respond with the year and model of your vehicle and I will recommend you the best option.
