Recommendations For Adding The Curt Echo Brake Controller To A 2022 Hyundai Palisade
Question:
Hi. Im looking at the Curt hitch C13427 for my 22 Hyundai Palisade, but am also in the need of a brake controller for the small camper I have as well. I like the idea of the Curt Echo, but Im not sure what all is needed to get it connected. Could use some help.

The Curt # C13427 hitch is definitely a good option for your 2022 Hyundai Palisade and will require no drilling to get installed. It is also American made, so I'm a fan. With that out of the way, lets get into installing the Curt Echo # C51180.
To start this process, you will need a 4 Flat wiring harness, and I recommend the Curt T-Connector # CU94FR. This is a plug and play harness and will take little to no time to get installed. This will provide the power to the trailer lights, but you will need our 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L to get the controller working. This will piggyback off the 4 Flat and will need a wire run up to the battery, but it isn't overly difficult to do. This will get the rest of the power needed and you will be good to go.
A potential add on that I like to recommend with the Curt Echo is the Manual Override Button # C83HR. This installs anywhere you need it to and allows you to not have to rely on your smartphone for the manual override after the initial set up.
As you will be towing, you will also need a ball mount and ball if you do not already have one. The # C13427 hitch will sit 11 inches off the ground, so the correct rise or drop will depend on how far it is from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer. The average coupler height will be around 17 inches, so this will be an example. With that said, the Curt # C45100 ball mount will have 6-1/4" of rise, and will be a great option. The 2" Curt Ball # 40038 will then lock into your coupler, and the pin and clip # C21510 will keep everything secure in the hitch.
