Brake Controller Connector Location and Install on 2008 Fleetwood Discovery Motorhome
Question:
Unable to locate the pigtail for quick connect. Blue wire from 7-pin trailer plug is present for a bit and appears to head into ECM pin 13. Have 30 amp breaker in chassis fuse box marked trailer brakes. Any hints as to location of pre-wiredinch connector ? Regards

My research indicates that your 2008 Fleetwood Discovery 40X was built on a Freightliner chassis. If your motorhome has the OEM 7-way at the back bumper, the brake controller install will be plug and play.
From what I found online, the brake controller connector is located behind the steering column. If you're planning on using the Redarc # RED44FR Tow-Pro Elite brake controller you'd looked at, you'll need the # 3027-P harness as well as the # 331-TPH-017 adapter. Plug the # 3027-P into the connector under the dash, and plug one end of the # 331-TPH-017 adapter into the # 3027-P. Plug the other end of the adapter into the Tow-Pro Elite brake controoller.
Or, you can simply cut off the flat connector on the # 3027-P and wire it directly to the pigtail provided with the brake controller, wire color for wire color.
I've linked to a video showing how the Tow-Pro Elite brake controller works.
