Front Trailer Hitch Receiver That Will Allow For the Skid Plate To Mount On a 2008 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
I see that for a 2008 Tacoma, the skid plate must be removed as part of the installation. Does the skid plate go back on after the hitch receiver is installed, or does the skid plate stay off permanently?

I do have an option that will allow for you to still have your skid plate on your 2008 Toyota Tacoma as with the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31313 mounted to the front of your Tacoma the skid plate must be permanently removed and not reinstalled afterwards.
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65070 will allow for you to reinstall the front skid plate after the receiver has been installed.
I do recommend using a Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover # 63080 to clean up the look on the front of the receiver when you do not have anything mounted inside the reciever. This will also help to keep debris out from inside the receiver tube while you drive, thus ensuring that your ball mount or hitch mounted accessory will still easily fit inside the receiver.
