You will not need to remove the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms
# RM-521448-5 when you explore off-road. You will want to remove the removable arms just to prevent them from getting damaged. The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate kit is heavy duty and it also fits snug against the bumper and rock guard.
If you need a tow bar I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-522. I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon because the telescopic inner arms allow you a fast and easy hookup.
The other items you will need to complete your tow bar package are:
Braking system - Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System - Proportional # BLU37TR
Tow Bar Wiring - Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154
Safety Chains - Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables - 10,000 lbs - Qty 2 # BX88197
Flex Coil Wire - Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter for 7-Way to 4-Wire Flat # HM47065
