Which Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution for 2017 GMC Canyon Towing 700 lb Tongue Weight
Question:
hello, i have a 2017 GMC Canyon Diesel Crew Cab short bed. Max tongue weight is about 700 lbs. Can i use the Curt 17501 ? The hitch tongue wt is rated for 10,000 to 15,000 lbs. Is this a problem ?? Currently i only use this truck to tow maximum of about 5,000 lbs. But in the future i might have a 1/2 ton truck that need to tow 8000 lbs trailer. And i dont want to buy the weight distribution hitch twice. please advise

The the Curt weight distribution system part # C17501 would have a much higher tongue weight rating that you'd need for towing with your Canyon so what the means is that you'd have a really rough ride quality if you were to use it. So while it would technically "work" it wouldn't be ideal and instead I'd recommend a lower rated system like the # C17499 which is rated for 500 to 800 lb tongue weight.
