Brophy Hitch Extender for Weight Distribution System

Question:

Hello. I tow 5000lbs gross weight camper. Suv is rated 7000 lbs and 700lbs tounge weight. I have weight distribution hitch and spare tire carrier HitchGATE Solo brand. I need 5inch and enought room to clear gas tanks on the trailer during turns. THANK YOU

Based off of the information you have provided me I recommend the Brophy Hitch Extender with Step item # ST18. This is an 18" extension that fits a 2" hitch receiver and has a 6.5" x 17" step. It is rated for up to 7,000 lbs if used with a weight distribution system and 3,500 lbs if used without. However, it does reduce your hitches towing capacity by 1/3rd so you would want to check and make sure your hitch has enough capacity to support this extension. We do not offer the HitchGATE spare tire carrier so you would need to check with the manufacturer to verify it can be used with a weight distribution system and a hitch extender.
