Using the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes with a 2-1/2 Inch Trailer Hitch  

Question:

Will this fit into a 2.5 inch receiver with a 2 inch adapter? I am using on a 2018 Ram 3500 . Or will I have to get a adapter? I am concerned about the hitch pin on the carrier.

To use the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes, # TH903202 on your 2018 Ram 3500 with a 2-1/2" hitch receiver, I recommend the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender, # HR26. This adapter offers both a reducer from 2.5" to 2" and an extension of 7" from the center of each hitch pin hole. This 7" extension will have more than enough room for the shank of the Thule EasyFold XT to securely rest inside. In order to secure the reducer inside the trucks receiver tube opening, you will need a hitch pin and for this you can use, # C21510 for standard or, # e98881 for locking.

Please keep in mind that using this adapter, like most, will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch/vehicle but this should not be an issue with the 2.5" hitch you have on your truck.
