Will the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5GX1216 Work with My 2020 F-250 with a Curt Ball and Top Latch Lever?
Question:
I have a 2020 F250 with a factory installed prep and I was wanting to buy and use the convert a ball hitch system with a Curt ball that has the top latching lever. Should I not use this one and which one would you recommend if I shouldnt use this Curt system

I have a great ball solution for you. Unfortunately, the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5GX1216 will not work with your Curt ball with your top latching lever. However, without knowing the exact model of 5th-wheel trailer you have, the best solution is the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter w/8" Offset for Short-Bed Trucks # AM3139. As far as measurements, the measurement from the bottom of the king-pin plate to top of the hitch ball when the trailer and truck are level is 11-3/4" (when adapter is collapsed) to 14-3/4" (when adapter is extended). The Ranch Hitch will work as long as you have a standard pin box that does not have a cushioned or air ride system. The Ranch Hitch will work with the same 2-5/16 inch ball size as the Convert-A-Ball. As long as you have a 2-5/16 inch ball that is not offset, it will fit. If you have an offset ball, I recommend the Ranch Hitch Universal 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Coupler Adapter # AM3100.
While these options are universal and will likely work for you, feel free to provide us with the model of pinbox you have to verify compatibility or to provide a non-universal fit.
