Comparing Curt Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
I see that there are 2 receivers that fit my 2022 Chevy Equinox made by Curt. Which one is better?

Of the 2 Curt receivers available for your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, I recommend the Receiver # C77FR as the better choice. It has a class III, 2" receiver which has a lot more options available to fit when you are looking at hitch mounted accessories. The tongue weight capacity of the receiver is 675lbs and the maximum trailer weight capacity is 4,500lbs. Be sure to not exceed the weight capacities for your particular Equinox given from Chevrolet.
The Receiver # C98CR is almost identical to there other receiver but it has a class II, 1-1/4" receiver. While they do not offer as many accessories with this receiver size, if you already have your accessories in the 1-1/4" size than this will be a better option as you will not have to use adapters to make them work in the 2" receiver. The tongue weight capacity for this receiver is 525lbs and the maximum trailer capacity is 3,500lbs.
If you have a Diesel model these receivers will not fit. Currently there is not a receiver confirmed to fit models with the Diesel engine.
When you install the receiver you should also have a 4-way wiring harness installed. This will be required when you are towing a trailer or using a bike rack or cargo carrier that requires Auxiliary Lights # C53201. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118750 will fit all trims with the exception being the Premier trim level. For the Premier trim you will need Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118759.
The Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58002 can be used to hold the 4-way in place near the receiver if you use the 1-1/4" receiver. For the 2" receiver you will need Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58001.
