In order to provide a 12v power supply to the 7 way trailer plug on your 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 you'll need to make sure that you've got a wire running from the plug to the battery. If you're trying to install the Twist-In 7 Way # PK11916 in your truck bed you can likely tap into the 12v wire on the back of your factory connector to provide this power.
If your factory 7 way does not have power then I would check the towing fuses, as you might have a blown fuse that's causing the issue.
