Replacement Parts Needed To Convert Wheel Style Trailer Hub With Idler Hub On Homemade Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 1982 home built boat trailer, 3/4 inch spindle that protrudes 4 inches, then rim has the races built into it and uses 2 bearings. I would like to get a hub that would eliminate this design so I could have wheels that bolt on, i see a kit number listed however the inner bearing is bigger than the 3/4 inch spindle, i think it said 1.25. Do you offer a hub with 3/4 inch on both sides

To be able to install a different hub you will need to replace your spindles. The BTR E-Z Lube Spindle # TRU44FR as a 1-1/4" shaft that is designed to be welded inside your current axle tube. If your axle tube has a different inner dimension let me know and I can help you find the right one. This new spindle will get you common size bearings allowing for you to change hub styles and a E-Z lube grease zerk to ensure that your bearings are filled.

You will be able to mount a 4 on 4" Hub # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-2K or a 5 on 4-1/2" Hub # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K depending on the wheel and tire size you are wanting to use. Both hubs are galvanized for better corrosion resistance since this is a boat trailer. They also include all the bearings, races, lug nuts, grease seal and grease cap needed for installation on the BTR spindle.
