Is Battery Isolator Needed When Using Redarc BCDC Battery Charger To Charge Lithium AUX Battery?
Question:
I have a lion energy lithium 105 AH battery in my trailer. I’m planning on installing the Redarc Bcdc1225d charger. Do I also need to install the smart load isolator 331-sbl12-LLD or is it optional ? Also the trailer has a portable solar panel that plugs into an exterior port on the trailer. Where does the yellow wire on the charger hook into that system? Thanks

Since you are using the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D to charge a Lithium battery you will need to install the Redarc Smart Start Load Disconnect # 331-SBI12-LLD. This will get installed between the lithium battery and the load on the battery.
In regards to the solar panel, you will need to connect the yellow wire from the # 331-BCDC1225D to the port on your trailer that your solar panel plugs into that way the charger is distributing that power.
I included a video of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
