What Sealant Do I Use Around My Exterior Water Heater Cover?

Question:

I had to remove some of the sealant around my water heater on the exterior of my travel trailer. It extended onto the edge that the removable heater cover fit over, effectively gluing the cover onto the heater body. What is an appropriate sealant to reseal the edge of the water heater? I do not know how hot this area gets.

You will want a Non-Sag sealant like the alpha Systems Alpha Thane 5160 Non-Sag Sealant for RVs # AL83KV. It sticks to wood, metal and glass. It will not run or drip. It is weather-resistant and flexible so it wont crack and peal off while your travel trailer flexes and moves.

With an application temperature range from 5-120 degrees F you can be confident it will set properly.
