Compatibility Of Draw-Tite Receiver 75699 Carrying a 228LB Dirt Bike on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hello. I want to carry a 228 pound dirt bike with this hitch. Will it be strong enough or do I need a class iv? Thank you. Scott My car is a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Yes, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75699 that fits your 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be able to carry your dirt bike. The receiver is rated for a maximum tongue weight of 500lbs. Be sure to check your owners manual for the exact capacity of your Jeep and do not exceed the lower of two numbers. Even with the lowest capacity of the Grand Cherokees at 350lbs you will be able to carry your dirt bike.
I recommend using the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033 with your Jeep to carry your dirt bike. This rack weighs 52lbs with the removable ramp that can be placed on either end of your carrier making loading and unloading easier. The Shockstrap Motorcycle Tie Downs # SS6-SL14 are great for securing your dirt bike. Since they use a cam buckle strap you will not overtighten the straps and cause damage to your suspension and the shock straps allow for the shock caused by bumps to be absorbed in the straps.
You will also want to install a Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118727 so that you can use a set of Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on your carrier since the vehicles behind you may have trouble seeing your tail lights when your dirt bike is loaded onto the carrier.
