Is Trimming Needed With Draw-Tite Hitch For Audi 2020 SQ5?

Question:

The product page says that some trimming of fascia is needed. However, some answers and the video seem to claim that you can get away with no cutting. Can you please confirm whether trimming is needed or not, specifically for a 2020 SQ5 the Q5 sports model? Thank you.

Our installation video states that some trimming may be required on your 2020 Audi SQ5 but the installer was able to replace the fascia without trimming it. So to answer your question I would say no you do not need to trim the fascia when installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76183.

While installing if you feel you will need to trim the fascia to meet your standards, you will need to trim using a rotary tool or some snips. Then trace the section of fascia that is touching the hitch receiver tube, it will only be about 2-1/2 inches wide and half an inch deep, then trim that section out.

Looking at every video picture and customer photo I have access to, I didn't see any that had actually needed to be trimmed. One was very close, millimeters away, but it wasn't touching or trimmed.
