Expert Reply:
The best trailer hitch option for a 2004 Toyota Highlander is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98857. This trailer hitch has a bolt-on fit with no cutting or drilling required. It has a matte finish which blends in well with the vehicle and helps hide scratches. It can also be used with a weight distribution system if needed which is used for towing. That said. you will need wiring if you'll be towing and in which case I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118413. Don't forget the ball mount and hitch ball, we have a kit for this as part # 989899.
