Troubleshooting No Power at 12v Power Pin on 2008 Ford F-450 with Factory Trailer Plug

Question:

i have a 2008 f450 dullay 4x4 4 door crew cab it have a 7 way factor plug on it, but it not wired 12volt power. how can i get power to it

In order to supply 12v power to your 7 way plug like the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug - GM, Ford, Ram, Toyota - 9' Long # 50-97-410 there will be a direct connection to the battery from the pin at 1-o'clock when looking at the front of the 7 way. It's likely that your 2008 Ford F-450 has a blown fuse that is associated with the factory towing components, so you'll want to consult the owner's manual to determine which fuse box the towing fuses are located in and make sure that the 12v power fuse isn't blown.

If you find that there aren't any blown fuses, then you'll need to run a wire from the rear of your 7 way to your battery. I've also linked a helpful article on troubleshooting 7 way wiring that has the functions of all of the wiring on your trailer plug.
