Replacement Parts for Roadmaster Even Brake that Is Missing Everything but Main Unit

Question:

We recently purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox that is toad ready to pull with our Class C motorhome. The previous over of the toad pulled it with a Class A so the car is currently setup with an Air Force One system and as far as we know, since our Class C does not have air brakes, we cannot use this system for supplemental braking. When we began looking for a toad, a friend who had sold her motorhome gave us a Roadmaster Even Brake. Unfortunately, all we have is the main box that hooks to the brake pedal. The Serial Number is 004954. Questions: 1 What parts would be needed to use the Even Brake? 2 Is there a way to test the boxinch to ensure that is works before investing in parts? 3 Is there something else you would recommend? Thank you in advance!

Thanks for including the serial number of your Roadmaster Even Brake # RM-9400 that means that the correct transmitter is the part # RM-9420 and then for a receiver # RM-9410. This is what allows you to be able to see what the Even Brake is doing from your tow vehicle.

For the breakaway components you'd need the # RM-650898 and the # RM-650900.

Aside from plugging it in and seeing if it powers on there isn't a way to really test it for function without all of the components.

Since your unit is older and the replacement parts needed are somewhat costly if you wanted to replace it with something similar that is a bit more modern the Blue Ox Patriot part # BLU37TR would work great.
