Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 And Montana High Country 331RL
Question:
I have. 2021 Chevy 2500 HD diesel. It measures about 38” to the bottom of the bed. The max height of the hitch is 19”. Total hitch height then is 57”. My Montana High Country 331rl needs 60 1/4” to tow level. My bed sidewall height is just over 60”. Will this hitch work?

From the measurements you've given me you're looking at approximately a 3" difference between the hitch and the pin box king pin plate.
To remedy this you can adjust the height of your pin box (if possible) lower to make up the difference. Instead of the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3775 you can use the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541 with the Adapter Rails for Curt 5th Wheel Hitch -Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package # C88KR. This hitch has an adjustable height of 17-1/2" - 21-1/2" and the adapter rails measure approximately 3.5" tall which would easily help you make up this difference.
That being said the trailer nose facing down will actually move the center of gravity of the trailer slightly more forward of the trailer axles. By doing so you will improve the stability of the tow. I do not recommend the trailer nose facing down more than one inch though.
