How to Install the Hopkins HM43534 7 Way Adapter On a 2014 Nissan Frontier

Question:

I currently have a 7 way adapter on my 2014 Nissan Frontier. I have already added the additional fuses for towing. However I installed my adapter into my bumper and it has cracked. I need to replace the adapter itself. The unit I am looking at is the HM43534. It stopwatch to be a 7-way and 4- pin harness. What do I need to convert to this option?

Expert Reply:

The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Flat Connectors # HM43534 is actually a plug and play option for your 2014 Nissan Frontier. Though this will come with a bracket to attach it to the bottom of the bumper or in some other way, you may be able to mount it in the hole you already have in said bumper.

The holes will measure 2-1/2 inches from center to center when going across horizontally, so if this matches the mounting holes you already have, it will bolt right up. If they do not on the other hand, you could drill new holes to just mount it with the top holes. Kind of an odd solution, but will be a clean installation once finished.
