What Crossbar System Do I Need to Mount the Curt Basket # C18115 to My Flush Rails?
Question:
Goodmorning! I have a 2019 AWD limited Rav 4 with, I think, flush mount side bars. I would like to get a small roof cargo basket such as the: Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2inch Long x 37inch Wide x 4inch Deep - 150 lbs Item # C18115, as I am looking to do some boondocking and want some extra cargo space. Also, I will need cross bars but am not sure which ones to get and wonder if you can help me with this, without breaking the bank, so to speak. Is there a waterproof bag that will also fit the basket? Thank you so much for your time and help. Very Respectfully, Jordan

From your pictures (thanks for including them!), you are definitely correct that your 2019 Toyota RAV4 has flush factory rails. You are also correct in saying that you will need a crossbar system in order to mount the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep # C18115. This basket is a great fit for your vehicle and will give you a maximum weight capacity of 150 pounds to transport your boondocking gear.
As far as a waterproof cargo bag for the Curt basket, I recommend the Curt Cargo Bag for Roof Basket - Waterproof - 13.5 Cu Ft # C18220. The dimensions of the bag are 38" long x 34" wide x 18" tall, so it will utilize much of the space of the 41-1/2" long x 37" wide x 4" deep measurements of the Curt basket. It was specifically designed for the # C18115 basket. As far as fitment, the Curt bag uses straps that will attach to the baseket.
For a compatible crossbar system on your vehicle's flush rails, I recommend the following parts:
- Round 48" CrossBars for Yakima Roof Rack System # Y00408
- SkyLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars # Y53TR
- RoundBar SL Adapter for Yakima BaseLine, SkyLine, TimberLine, and RidgeLine Towers # Y03536
- Landing Pad 23 for Yakima SkyLine and Control Towers # Y98FR
- (optional for theft-deterrence) Yakima Same-Key System Lock Cores # Y07204
With this crossbar system, you will be able to mount your Curt basket and cargo onto your 2019 Toyota RAV4. If you need assistance with the installation of the crossbar system, I went ahead and attached an installation video for you.
