Are Provider Brand ST235/80R16 Tires A Good Quality Tire?

Question:

Im thinking about replacing my new Provider ST235/85R16 tires on our 2019 Keystone Alpine 5th wheels trailer but Im having a hard time justifying the replacement and cost for a tire that in great shape. National chain tire Co. says Provider is a decent factory installed tire but would not replace with the same it needed. They recommend going with the Good Year Endurance ST 10 ply or the Heartland ST rad. Thoughts please. Thx

Expert Reply:

Yes, Provider tires like you ST235/85R16 # PRG80235 are indeed a good tire and unless there is excessive wear or damage to the tire there is not reason to replace them.

These tires are very popular among our customers due to the quality and durability for the cost.

The Goodyear Endurance ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire you mentioned is also a good tire but has a lower load rating at 3420lbs at 80 PSI compared to the 4080lbs at 110 PSI of your current tires so you would not be gaining anything going to these tires, and depending on the weight of your trailer these may not work at all for you.
