Parts Needed For Towing A Small Camper With a 2018 Hyundai Accent
Question:
I finally found a small RV trailer that indicates a less than 200 # hitch weight, with a 2inch ball that I want to pull with my 2018 Hyundai Accent. What all parts do I need to be able to achieve this???

To begin according to the owners manual for your 2018 Hyundai Accent it recommends against using your vehicle for trailer towing. That being said here are the parts if you decide that you are going to use it for towing your camper.
For your Accent the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11548 has a class I rating that is capable of 200lbs tongue weight and a towing capacity of 2,000lbs.
You will need a wiring harness for the lights on your camper. The Curt Powered Tail Light Converter # C59236 will allow for you to operate the tail lights through a 4-way flat trailer connection. If your camper is equipped with a 7-way connector and trailer brakes you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 and a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
You will also need a ball mount for your 2" ball. First you will want to determine how much rise you will need for your specific camper. To find this measurement you will need to measure the top of where the receiver tube sits for your accent to the bottom of the trailer coupler. The difference in these numbers will be the amount of rise you need for a ball mount. Be sure that your ball mount is a class I as the class II mount will not fit properly in your receiver.
