I know it is hooked up derrect to batterys is there a way to reset or should it be replaced. I red that if you have this kind you should upgrade to a Atwood AT36681.is this the best way to fix my problem.

I'm not aware of a way to reset a ProTechTor propane leak detector, but this unit is somewhat obsolete at this point so I do recommend replacing it. The Atwood model you've mentioned is no longer available but the 2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR is also a high quality replacement that detects propane gas and carbon monoxide, so it's the best solution to protect you and your family from dangerous gas leaks.
