Do I Need a 12 Volt Charge Line On My 2017 Jeep Cherokee To Maintain Battery Power While I Flat Tow?

I bought everything from etrailer to flat tow our 2017 Jeep Cherokee behind RV. The 7pin to 6pin wire kit has no connection from 7 pin power to the 6 pin connection. Is +12V power needed for the power steering?

Yes, with the addition of the Mopar Recreational Flat Tow Wiring Kit 68321424AB on your 2017 Jeep Cherokee, it will send 12 volt power from the battery to the power steering motor when you are towing. This helps to prevent the death wobble that can occur when you flat tow your Jeep.
Also if you have a braking system it is also using power from your battery to operate the braking system. Because of this I recommend adding a Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25. This will wire into your 6-way connector that you installed on the front of your Jeep to maintain your battery as you drive. I have linked a video below to help you through the installation.
