Recommended Trailer Hitch For 2017 Audi Q5 To Carry Bike Rack
Question:
Hello: Looking to install a receiver hitch for my 2017 Audi Q5 to carry 1-2 bikes. One bike is an EBike. It weights 35 lbs and step over frame. Cannondale. Can you recommend preferred way to go. Audi tells me they dont make a hitch for my model because of sensors etc which will go off if I put one on the car. Any experience with that happening from your knowledge? Thanks

For your 2017 Audi Q5 I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75940 as it will work perfectly on your vehicle and not interfere with any of the sensors, and the hidden crosstube makes it so only the receiver itself will be visible once installed as you can see in the included picture. We have not heard of any issues after installing this hitch on a Q5.
For a bike rack I recommend the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Black # SH22B which works with bikes weighing up to 40lbs each so your 35lb E-Bike will fit perfectly. This rack grabs your bikes by the wheels so no need to worry about having your bike frames scratched.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
