How To Add Electric Brakes To a Boat Trailer

I want to add electric brakes to my boat trailer, it has 14inch wheel and tires. Tandem axle.

In order to add electric brakes to a trailer you'll need to know the axle capacity and wheel bolt pattern. The axle capacity should be printed on a tag in the center of the beam. Once you have this you can use it to pick out the correct braking assemblies and respective hubs/drums. The Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-35 for example is for 3,500 lb axles and would then match up with the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K which is for a 5 on 4-1/2" wheel bolt pattern. Then, you'd need the 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # 277-000141 and the Pro Series Push to Test Breakaway Kit part # 50-85-315.
