Troubleshooting No Power On Brake Controller Output Circuit at 7-Way But Power Behind Controller

Question:

I have reviewed three posts that you have about the blue wire, thanks for those. My issue is that I dont have no power on the vehicle side of the blue, but perhaps I am not supposed to? I have power from my blue wire coming from my brake controller, but if I test just the blue wire coming from the vehicle i dont get a reading on a power probe. I thought this was my issue but not think it is not as the power comes from the brake controller into the vehicle on the blue wire. If I am correct about that is there any thing else that could lead to a NC on my brake controller. I have followed all directions and I have power from the red lines that you connect to the posts in the fuse box under the hood. The vehicle 7 post receptor looks to be in good condition and when I hooked the same trailer up to a different vehicle with the same brake controller, it works fine, so I am at a loss for what could be the reason for it not connecting. Thanks

If you have power on the blue wire of your brake controller but none at the back of the 7-way that would mean somewhere between the two places you checked there's a break in the circuit that's preventing it from making it to the trailer wiring connector pin. Most of the time this is because of dirt on the pins of the 7-way which can be just sanded off easily or it's broken wire between the two areas that would require you to trace the circuit back to find and fix.

I attached a help article on brake controller troubleshooting for you to check out as well.
