Can You Replace a Short Jaw 0719 Pin Box With Longer 1621 Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box?

I contacted the Tech Rep at Lippert to verify, yes, the 0719 and 1621 pin boxes are interchangeable. The 1621 pin boxes are approximately 8-3/4" longer than a 0719, bolt patterns matches. You can replace your current 0719 pin box with the Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box, # LC328492 for Lippert 1621 pin boxes rated at 18,000 lbs.

I found out by a mishap that a long jaw did not work well with my 2018 F 350 long bed. I replaced the 1621 with a long jaw and adjusted the height between the bed and bottom of the rv cap to approximately 8 inches. The first turn I made, the back of the pinbox caught the side of the inside of the bed rail. I had to air the bag up a lot to makeup the height difference. The pin box was installed as high up into the frame as possible, and my hitch was raised up to maintain 8 inches. Anymore adjustment would have put too much distance between the bed rails and the rv and been way to high. I searched for a shorter jaw in the trailair flexair style, and was unsuccessful. Went back to the original 1621 pinbox.
