Recommended Weight Distribution With Sway Control For 2021 Coleman 3215BH Light Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2017 GMC Silverado Short Box 4x4 Z71 SLT with 3.42 gear ratio and a 5.8L V8. I am purchasing a 2021 Coleman 3215BH Light Travel Trailer. It is supposed to have a tow capacity of 11,000lbs I believe. I need to know what type of Weight Distribution and Sway Controls bars I need to buy. to attach between the truck and RV. This is my first travel trailer purchase. RV Specs - Weight Dry - 7,718 lbs Payload Capacity - 1,962 lbs. Hitch Weight - 1,092 lbs.

Thank you for those details, they were definitely helpful, and we can get you set up with the best option for a weight distribution hitch with sway control for your 2021 Coleman 3215BH Light Travel Trailer. This is a pretty long trailer at nearly 37 feet, so it's really important to get a hitch that is going to give you the most control over your sway, and for that I highly recommend going with the Blue Ox SwayPro, with the right fit for your Coleman trailer being the following:

- Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BXW1500

This system is rated for total tongue weights between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs, which is perfect for your Coleman as its total tongue weight will be directly in that range. Most importantly, the SwayPro # BXW1500 utilizes four points of sway control - at the head and at the brackets - which offers the best prevention you can get against trailer sway, ensuring you have the most controlled, comfortable, and safe towing experience.

Apart from its excellent sway control, I really like the Blue Ox because it is quieter than other systems; it is a chain-style so you won't hear the noise that is prevalent with the bars of the friction-style systems. It is also much easier to use than other options because once you clamp on the brackets, you insert the chains into them and just tighten them with the provided wrench. This is different than other systems where you have to measure and re-measure to get the right number of chain links.

The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution with Sway Control # BXW1500 also comes with everything you need except the hitch ball, and the correct option for that is the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # 63840.
