Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2012 Coachmen 292BHDS Travel Trailer

Is this product suited for the rear bumper of a 2012 Coachmen 292BHDS Travel Trailer? If so, what bumper mounting hitch do you recommend with the Swagman XTC4 for the travel trailers bumper?

Only certain bike racks can be used on the back of a trailer or RV. I have included a link to the options for you. The Swagman XTC4, # S64665, cannot be used at the back of a trailer or RV.

If your trailer has a 4 to 4-1/2 inch square steel bumper that has a continuous weld then you can use # S80600 and you will not need a hitch. I have linked the instructions for you to view.

If you want to go with one of the hitch mount options then you must have a 4 inch square continuous welded steel bumper and you can use hitch # UF35-946402. With this hitch or with the bumper mount rack listed above you would also need to make sure the bumper is rated for the weight of a rack and bikes.

The other option is to use a frame mount hitch, the most versatile of which is # 13703. It fits box frames, C-channel frames, I-Beam frames, and it can be bolted or welded on (welding requires a professional installation). Curt does require the use of stabilization strap # 18050 when using the hitch for a bike rack.
